The person in their working environment

Next to mental diseases, posture-related and locomotor-related complaints are the most common cause for sick-related absence in the workplace. Not only does this form a substantial share of the costs of our health system, but it also has a significant influence on the productivity of an individual company. It has been proven that these negative effects can be significantly reduced through ergonomic measures.

Ergonomy focuses on the adaptation of working conditions to the abilities and characteristics of the working person as well as opportunities for the person to adapt to their work tasks. The aim of ergonomy is finding a balance between the demands of the work and the abilities of the employee.

The ergonomy department of the Valens Rehabilitation Centre employs medical staff who are specially trained in the field of ergonomy. Their aim is enabling the patient to return to work as soon as possible .
